1. Skin Examination

Visual inspection of suspicious spots, moles, or skin patches.

2. Dermatoscopy

A microscope helps us view each part of the mole.

3. Skin Biopsy

A small sample of skin tissue is removed and analyzed under a microscope to detect malignant neoplasms.

4. Imaging Tests

CT scans and MRIs serve as advanced tests to check if cancer extends beyond the affected skin.

If you’re undergoing or have completed skin cancer treatment, here are key precautions:

• Shield yourself from sunlight during the strongest sun hours between 10 AM and 4 PM.
• Apply sunscreen with broad protection and SPF 30 every day.
• Keep yourself safe by wearing sun protective clothes plus eyewear plus headwear.
• Your doctor should check your skin at intervals of between 6 and 12 months.
• Keep an eye out for new skin growths on your body parts including face nails and body epithelial areas.

Following these steps helps prevent recurrence of skin tumors or new cases of skin melanoma.
